I have been waiting for shipment to Europe for weeks now.. From what DHL tells me, it seems like it hasn't move from the US since february 11, last update from them. Does anyone have the same problem?

LilianCMine was pretty fast in Europe but it took the Dutch customs several weeks before it passed. It was send to me februarY 8th and arrived in Amsterdam February 15th. It passed customs February 26th and I could collect it the day after.

HarrySThanks for your reply ! I finally received mine on February 27th too, what worried me is that I didn't get any notification when it left for Europe. But now that I have it on my wrist, it doesn't matter anymore haha

I'm surprised that C3PO's lovechild sold out! It might be the ugliest out of this bunch!

Could have sworn I saw a second Seiko drop this AM--I even left a comment. Now both seem to have vanished into thin air--"like a miracle" they're gone! Perhaps I just imagined it?

Any idea if you are going to have more SRPE53? I've been waiting to see one here, and just when a bit distracted it goes "Out of Stock".... Back luck on my part

It's not that these watches are particularly bad or good, it's that they are the product of recent changes to Seiko's business model that, in my opinion, are going in the wrong direction. Not from a business point of view, but from a collector's point of view. These new Sport 5's are aimed at the entry-level, youth market (dare I say "fashion watch" market) for folks not quite ready to own multiple watches yet. The next step up would be the ProSpex line--which are considerably more expensive, and which Seiko loves to release in LE versions which are even more expensive still. Those are aimed directly at collector types. Unfortunately, that bright line, two tier approach comes at the cost of dropping watches like the SKX and the SARB models that simply didn't fit into Seiko's new matrix. Where all this leads is anyone's guess, but from my point of view, the things that got me into watches, and more specifically into Seiko watches are absolutely missing from this Sport 5 line up. I see them as a generic foundation intended to be accessorized into versions of the same watch--rather than unique, stand alone models. In other words, the Seiko 5 line is a naked Barbie Doll watch waiting for Seiko's marketing team to dress up in new "Outfits" intended to appeal to...folks who don't know any better. The'll work and tell time, no doubt--but they are all absolutely soulless.

I have an SKX and I never cared about the 200M were on it's own. The thing I most liked about it as that to achieve that ISO rating, the individual watch had to be tested. Not just "We've made it according to spec so we can say it's 100M water resistant", but instead "We put this particular watch case in a tester and it passed". At least, that's what I believe you had to do to get an ISO rating. I could be wrong.

Joensuu You could be. Still, they are (eventually were) cool watches and so far as I know, none of them ever failed the 200M test in actual use which is where it matters most.

Couldn't resist the SRPE 65 (green one) and the price seems fair enough; about €100 less than overhere (incl. shipment). Now just wait and see what customs will take off my profit!

I own the SRPE63 (the one that comes on the NATO, not the bracelet). I'm wearing it now and I like it quite a bit. It's become my daily wearer whenever I have a blue-based color outfit on. I don't mind the lack of a screw down crown as the watch is still hand windable and it's a dressier piece so I doubt I'll wear it when active or outdoors. I have other watches for that. $179 is a really good price for the bracelet. I paid $204 for the NATO version and felt like I got a pretty good deal. I wish I got mine on the bracelet. I would be more appropriate for office wear.

A+! I’m also not a fan of the new “5 in disguise” logo but acknowledge that this is curmudgeonly nitpicking because I never liked the original ‘5’ branding either.

I own the SRPD59 and like it considerably more than my SKX007 (which I sold). Realistically 1% of dive watch owners are going into the ocean! The handwinding is a godsend compared to the old movement! Edit: Less than 1%

I was looking for one of these but in the SRPE61 version. Drop's price is about $9 lower than the best sales price I've seen at Macy's so far. Then there's the shipping charge though.
