Powered by Seiko’s own V175 solar movement, this watch works by charging the photovoltaic cells inside, which, theoretically, means it can run forever (or, at least a lifetime). The dial of this chronograph is outfitted with three subdials: one for hours, minutes, and seconds. The markers are lumed for visibility—and to make it even more legible, there’s an oversized numeral 12 at the very top, perhaps the focal point of the dial. With the unidirectional bezel, you’ll be able to keep track of elapsed time. Just set it to the minutes hand and it will start tracking as time goes by. As far as build quality, this Seiko is tough. A Stainless steel case, mineral crystal, and stainless steel bracelet ensure it will stand up to wear. What’s more, it’s water resistant to a solid 100 meters.
