Seiko "Sumo" SBDC Watch
ISO 6425 Dive Watch
The Sumo is Seiko's mid-range diver that meets the ISO 6425 designs standards. The Sumo is fitted with a 6R15 23-jewel automatic movement, which runs at 21,600 bph and features a 50-hour power reserve as well as hacking and hand winding functions.
Note: Since this is a Japanese domestic market model, the manufacturer warranty is only valid is Japan. This watch is covered under a Massdrop 1-year warranty. These watches will be shipped from the US. This drop is limited to 103 units (1 unit SBDC001, 35 units SBDC031, 9 units SBDC003, 58 units SBDC033.)
Build Details
The stainless steel case features a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel. It features an aluminum insert in either black or blue and features a lumed pip. For water resistance, the watch features a screw in solid case back engraved with Seiko's scuba logo and the watch also features a screw down crown at 4 o'clock. On the dial there are bold, geometric hour markers and hands coated with LumiBrite for enhanced readability in the dark. A domed Hardlex crystal finishes off the durable and highly water resistant design.
Style Options
Seiko moved the Sumo to their Prospex collection. As a result, they added the Prospex logo on the dial as well as the caseback. They also made slight changes to the text under the Prospex logo. With these changes, they assigned the Sumo different reference numbers (SBDC031 and SBDC033.) These were the only changes made to the Sumo. The SBDC001 and SBDC003 are now discontinued models and we have a few left over units. You may choose your preferred model at checkout.
