Serious question. A lot of products on massdrop are non excludable. Is it legal to resell products like this for profit? I'm a fan of Seiko and am not saying I would exploit the bulk discount, but is it possible and do people do this?

redcrownDo you really have to ask this question? No. Wait. Did you really ask this question?

mthucsIn theory, you could. You're purchasing from Massdrop, not Seiko, and any contractual terms like that would have to be between you and Seiko. Without contract to the contrary, first-sale permits you to do as you like with your purchase(s). However, if that usage of Massdrop becomes the norm, suppliers are likely to push Massdrop for terms requiring them to sell only a limited number of units (one or two, say) to a given purchaser. This would ruin it for those who have reasons (such as gifting) more in line with the spirit of the site for purchasing multiples. So please don't. :-)

sehrgutThank you, I felt like this would be the answer I would get. Possible (maybe not ethical), but definitely should not become popular. I agree, thanks sehrgut!

redcrownI'm not trying to make you feel like a dumbass.
It's more that I find the question rude. We're all somewhat working on an honour system so as to not abuse the drops so that everyone can benefit from them. When someone asks about doing something like what you suggested, I don't believe it is the proper thing to do. Even if it is just out of curiosity and you would never actually do it, I just think it's inappropriate. It's like asking "Hey guys, would I get in trouble if i take advantage of this to earn some extra cash? It might mean one of you who actually wants it will miss out but like... Is it legal? Does anyone else do it?" Just not ethical and I didn't like the fact that the thought even crossed your mind let alone you asking in public about it.
Also, if you suspected that answer, why ask? I'm sure most of us figured it out without really needing to.
Sehrgut is just a nice guy. How can a man with such a beard not be awesome? :D
Plus, I'm sure you can think of other ways to earn cash rather than abusing massdrop for its drops.

mthucsThanks m8, I really was just wondering if people did this. I just found massdrop and it seemed to easy. I wouldn't/won't exploit it; a cite like this couldn't sustain itself if we did.
And the beard is working for Sehrgut for sure!
