bjwNot saying that your headset is not broken but have you updated drivers? Have you double checked that the boom comes down out of mute? Did you check the system sound settings to ensure the headset mic is primary? Again, you probably did these things but I wanted to be sure.

gfarmerBefore sending in the first pair I did a ton of troubleshooting myself and with Sennheiser's engineering team. I work for a company that I troubleshoot all day and everyday. I make sure I do this before, so that I have things in order when taking the next step to resolve the issue This is the report I sent them.
Attn: ……..(Sennheiser Tech name)
This is the 2nd pair that Massdrop replaced with. I was advised by Massdrop to send the first pair to them to have them send me a new pair, which are these. The same issue is happening with these as the other pair.
Issue: *The mic is not working.
Troubleshooting Steps taken: *Tested on the following devices, 2 iMac’s, iPhone, iPad, Xbox one - Mic Failed *Attached cables from my brand new Game Zero Headset, 2x3.5 mm cables and single 3.5mm cable. - Mic Failed *Test cables that came with Game One on Game Zero and Cables worked - **isolated issue to Headset** *All Test were done with the boom mic positioned in the down unmuted position
Possible Causes: Issue may be with Mic mute switch, Possible switch failure Issue may be with Mic wiring to switch or switch wires to main board in headset
Resolution: Repair and QA Mic to check integrity. Replace Headset if Mic is unable to be repaired
______________________
The weird thing with this 2nd headset is packed back up just like the first one I packed up to send back to massdrop. I did it a certain way to know if I was being sent the same headset back and also the tape on the top of the cover that covered the headset box had my tape on it. The Big question is, If this was a new headset that Massdrop sent then why would the serial on the box be the same as the first pair as well?
I know that sounds OCD but I have learned to take my own steps in securing the integrity of the issue

bjwIf I get the same set back with or a broken mic again I'm going to open "massdropsucks.com" and allow postings. 100% guaranteed result, and I'll be contacting the attorney general and filing a complaint.

bjwNope, over the top would be going to their office and making a scene. Opening a website to post a bad experience is pretty under the top for getting ripped off.
