AsatiirI agree that I wish balanced cable were easier to find, but I had an easier time finding a replacement cable for the 559 or 599. They are still my daily driver for over a year based on reliable sound quality and comfort. Can't recommend 560s more for the money, but I have a pair if 58x coming in the mail which might give it a run for the money. Purchased my pair elsewhere because I missed the original run here, so I can't post a review here except as a reply.
danieljohnsonrnwould be interested in hearing your comparison between these and the 58x eventually... also, i know it's additional cost, but i would recommend a new cable for the 58x. the stock cable works fine, but i got an 8 core silver plated one on another site and it has worked and sounded much better imo. great headphones though. i use them all the time. I would however, be interested in these 560s as well.
danieljohnsonrnHaving heard both, the HD560S sounds sharper in the treble, brighter overall in tonality and more technical all around. It would be a case of different strokes for different folks :)
*PS: Although I do find the HD560S a little too hot in the treble, EQ is always an option and there are also inline filters available like these custom ones from Solderdude Passive filters | DIY-Audio-Heaven (wordpress.com)
Erock541sorry for the delay in reply; it's probably too late, but here it is FWIW. The 58x seem to be more detailed and resolving for accuracy but with narrower soundstage and slightly more clamp. The relatively extended sub-bass on the 560S is clearly noticeable, but isn't unsatisfactory in the 58x.
I think, all-in-all, I prefer the 560S due to the wider soundstage, but I'm a bassist by training (so I might lean toward the low end for focus preference, after purposefully focusing on it for years-on-end). $150 for these seems like a no-brainer for someone who likes open-back, analytical sounding cans. They creak a bit going on, but once in place, they never move while not squeezing my noggin too much. I find I like the convenience of the single cable, as well, but that's a tiny benefit. I definitely recommend a replacement cable for mobile convenience (listening on LG phone with quad DAC, etc). HTH!
danieljohnsonrnYour comparison perfectly answered my unasked questions. : ) I've got the 58x and like it a lot for most music. I'm not a gamer so that's not an issue. The 58x has a decent amount of sub bass for my tastes, while the mids and highs are fantastic for vocals and acoustic instruments, so the 560s isn't for me. Thnx.
lsrochaNot really a reply to the above, but I find it interesting and/or telling that the 560S is selling for more than both the 58X and the 6XX in October 2023. I don't own the 6XX, but i wonder if more people are going for the 560S, or if it's simply supply vs demand. I think that I'm probably happier with the 560S given that I'm more an instrumental listener than vocal listener. The 6XX sure has sold more units though...
danieljohnsonrnI have both the 6xx and the 560s. I'm old and have measurable mid and high frequency hearing loss. I much prefer the 560s. Got it for almost half what is sells for here. Music only, no gaming.
