As much as a bass head has a right to expect from Sennheiser
It was surprisingly easy to open the box, put these headphones on, and listen for multiple hours. The Sennheiser HD660 s2s are not bass head headphones. Compared to the HD 6XXs, they do not have more bass as much as they have a more detailed bass sound. The bottom end does not thump, but provides a clearer definition of the instruments being used to create the bass track. I have never been a fan of the Sennheiser sound. I alway found it a bit sterile, though I have always appreciated the sound stage Sennheiser headphones create. I knew within the first five minutes of listening to these, however, that they would go into the rotation of headphones I listen to at least once a week. I could see them in the category of the one pair of headphones to have if you can only have one pair. They do a pleasing, if not spectacular job of playing all genres of music.

Very muddy
These sound much worse than the amazing HD6XX imo. And for $600 you can buy multiple pairs of better headphones. Try the HD6XX sans the hifiman Sundara’s both can be purchased at this price.

Excellent Headphones
They have terrific build quality, and are very comfortable to wear. The headphones rest lightly, and the felt pads are soft and comforting. Sound quality is terrific, and you will most likely need a DAC to take full advantage of it, but it works great even without it.

Unbelievable sound!
I never thought open back headphones could sound so good, with such oompf in the lower end. Every moment with these is a joy. I can go on all day long, and not get tired. The fit is incredible, too.
