This definitely isn't Massdrop's fault.

Unfortunately over the past few years Sennheiser put a strangle on pricing of many of their higher end headphones. The HD600 have been out for nearly 15 years now, and they're trying to keep the prices artificially high on them by bullying retailers. They could definitely allow the price to drop a lot more.

For this reason, I have avoided purchasing sennheiser products, and will continue to do so. In the past years I've purchased from AKG, Beyer, Hifiman, Sony, and Audio Technica instead.
hmm is this information valid? it does seem so, ya or maybe they think their headphone is worth the price tag??lawl, comparing to the other major brands that keep lowering price that is.--think beyer T1, think the cheap k702 that easily smokes anything as far as clarity and detail goes up to 400 bucks
