I mainly listen to EDM but I want a high end pair of Sennheisers. Are these worth going for?

GreatestI listen to a lot of electronic music and I enjoyed it on these cans for the most part, but they tend to be slightly dry sounding at times, and the bass response is fairly balanced. You're better off going for the DT990s which have more boosted bass and treble. I have DT880s and they're awesome for electronic stuff.

GreatestHd 650's would probably be better for edm, but those generally run 350-400 USD. Even if you bought these and don't like them, you could almost get all of your money back if you sell them as slightly used with all the stuff it came with. If I were you, I would at least try them out, especially at this price.

qweqopI tried the 650s with the magni and aune t1, does an OTL amp really make a difference? Both amps I tried didn't seem to remove much of the veil.

mjeriesI'm using an HD650 with a Modi and a Valhalla 2. I notice no veil with this setup on my HD650, I did notice some on an Emotiva XDA-2 and my Magni. There is a bit of a muddiness in extremely complex tracks and tracks that are poorly recorded or mastered. However, if you are used to overly bright headphones there may be another problem that only readjustment or brighter phones (HD800 anyone?) can solve.
i've used the Valhalla 2 with SE846s and they sounded awesome, so it's definitely suitable for more than just high impedance Senns. I also hear that the Sennheiser HDVD800/HDVA600 does wonders with HD650s. Consider an Oppo HA-1 as well, these phones sounded great out of a Oppo BDP-105, a little brighter than out of the Valhalla 2. But the tube amp is by no means tubey, it's extremely accurate and neutral.
