Brandon123Well, I guess it'll have to be another time. Can't really justify buying a fourth pair of earphones for the time being. Such a shame though :/ I've heard so much great reviews from these puppies

LejohnHad these ones for 2 years before ordering my current ciems (heir 3a). Compared to the stale and boring "BA" sound, the IE80 is a really fun IEM with lots of punch in the lower region :D

raexxIndeed. I have tested them in a headphone shop before. They sounded amazing. I agree somewhat that pure BA has a certain characteristic to it. That's why I went for a pair of advanced acoustic workers a3hpro which has double ba and single hybrid drivers. They sound really awesome too. But it's like I've been liking these pair of buds for such a long time and I miss out on it.. Sigh. Next time.. Definitely

LejohnWhat iem would u guys recommend me if I'm loowing for something with a wider soundstage but less bass than the ie80. I love mine a lot but bass just doesn't appeal to me. Probably cause I'm prone to headaches.

Brandon123Hmm m. I'd lean towards Etymotic research earphones If I were you then. Nearest thing I have to being neutral and wide soundstage are my pair of Akg k553's. But it's kind of irrelevant to you since they are headphones. Personally I'm more leaned towards bass heavy iems. Do give Etymotic a try though. Unless you are looking to spend Ciem money. I have tested a pair of w300 from aaw. They aren't going for cheap though

Brandon123Try the Mee Audio Pinnacle P1. They come at 200USD and are really good for it's price. The mid's are very detailed and they have a relatively high soundstage compared to other IEMs at the price point. So far, I have not found one single review of it that is negative towards it. Also, they are known to be on the lighter side of bass so I think these are perfect for you. http://www.head-fi.org/t/794787/mee-audio-pinnacle-p1-199-dynamic-driver-flagship-reviews-2nd-post

Brandon123Really depends on a lot of variables, and really there are a lot of good options at this price point, but i have been really happy with my recent MD purchase of the nuforce primo 8, which have quad BA drivers, and were dropped at 200usd. Probably not the most open/airy possible, but really a pretty amazing all rounder with above average soundstage, highs that don't fatigue, and pretty comfortable. Also, they are so clear, cclean, and smooth, I find I am able to listen at a much lower volume and still enjoy the music as much or more than my Bose or Shure iems, which may also help with headaches. Best of luck in your search.

LejohnThen you should probably be looking into CIEMs then, and with that budget you have so many options you really need to do more detailed research regarding what fits your particular tastes / needs. Unfortunately for me I'm not in the CIEM tier yet (roughly $600+, though cheaper can be had), but it's my understanding that they are all pretty much good at that point, just different.

Brandon123Well in that case. CIEM's will definitely be your best bet. Since you can tell the manufacturer on what sorts of sound signature you prefer. Best of luck with it though

Brandon123Have you tried the tape mod? It noticeably tames the bass.

Brandon123I assume you were responding to me. You can google ie80 tape mod to see what it's about. People put tape over the bass tuners. It's similar to going from a ported sub to a sealed one. You can actually give it a try by just putting your index fingers over the bass tuners and see if you can hear a difference. It shrinks the soundstage a bit, but removes a lot of the boominess that muddies up the mids.
