We get our Senn products directly from Sennheiser USA, so no need to worry about weird grey-market fakes.

MarkThanks, Mark! I wonder what they have going on that is making the entire shipping process such a mystery.
NinjasquirrelIt's not a mystery per se, it's the difference between Business-to-Business relationships(ordering wholesale) versus Business-to-Consumer (retail). When you order retail, you're paying a large mark-up for next day order processing, shipping options, etc. There's beautiful front-end commerce web solutions and units on shelves ready to ship immediately.
When you're placing wholesale orders, you email the sales rep, then they place the order, then someone takes the order and sends it to accounting, then someone initiates a wire payment, then someone sends an order form to the warehouse, then the warehouse stacks units onto a shipping pallet, then they call a freight carrier to pick it up, then it gets shipped to us. And maybe, at some point, someone has the initiative to send us the tracking # for the truck.
That's assuming that nobody above is on vacation, or being lazy, which further delays things.
In the consumer world you have choice, you can pay retail and buy an item from Bestbuy, or you can buy that same item, for basically the same price, on Amazon, or any other retailer. So they have to provide amazing service to win/keep your business. When Massdrop is ordering 100 units of X product, there's basically only 1 game in town, so they don't have to provide amazing service. Ordering products on Massdrop, you're getting the "not-so-amazing service" passed on to you, since you're effectively ordering a single unit wholesale.
We work really hard to try to mitigate and mask as much of this unpleasantness from the Massdrop community as possible, but it still creeps up pretty frequently and our posts are designed to provide transparency to reflect that.
(**This post relates to most of our orders, not specifically Senn) (You'd be surprised how many order forms we have to "fax" in.....)

MarkI have no doubts that this is what goes on, and when your competition is ordering thousands of units at a time, I could see how you somehow lose priority. Although I would imagine that with products this expensive (and not particularly popular) this wouldn't be such an issue, but then again, I have no idea how sennheiser USA runs its operations. Thank you and Hassan for keeping us periodically updated on the status of our product, even though we just like giving you guys a hard time.
This has probably been the most active comment section after a drop I have been in
