This is my first 60% keyboard. It was super easy to solder up and everything seems to be working perfectly. I went to the github page and it said that the standard layout was the default loaded from the factory. It sure seemed to me that the plain layout was actually loaded. I flashed the standard layout and so now I am trying to learn that before moving on to custom layouts. So far so good. Great kit!

dowlfThis is my first 60% keyboard as well, and the hardware was indeed easy. What github page are you referring to where it stated that the standard layout was the default loaded from the factory?
Without first uploading new firmware, I found that typing the upper left key is a backtick (`), the bottom left key (Pn) between the left Ctrl and left Alt maps to Super_L and the Fn key between the right Alt and right Win key maps to Super_R. The Win key was not mapped. This seems to map to the custom layout as described at https://github.com/VinnyCordeiro/tmk_keyboard/blob/master/keyboard/s60-x/README.md#8--custom
Here is a annotated picture of the mappings I am seeing:

Super_L and Super_R are keysyms spit out by the xev tool in Linux (Ubuntu 15.10 in my particular case).

bgoodrOn the page you linked it shows:
1 Standard - ANSI
The standard keymap is the one that is pre-flashed on the S60-X.

dowlfNo it was not for the one I received: It was the "custom" keymap. See the annotations in the pictures I posted.

bgoodrExactly, that is what I stated in the original post, that the github page was wrong.

dowlfOk, well I did not see that. What "original post" are you referring to?
