Serge Panchenko has a knack for designing pieces you can’t take your eyes—or your hands—off of. Featuring the Ukrainian designer’s signature rustic, earthy aesthetic, the Thorn slipjoint measures just 5 inches long, with a 2-inch blade made from CPM-154 steel. Open and close the blade manually and it sits tight thanks to a ball detent. Done in a sheepsfoot style, it makes it easy to cut with accuracy and precision, without worry of damage from piercing. The handle is an exhibition of Panchenko’s true skill. Made from antique brass and titanium, which is all stonewashed for an almost apocalyptic look, the handle feels rock solid in the hand. The Thorn comes with a right-handed tip-up clip made from titanium, but you can remove it if you want to carry it with more subtlety.
