i posted a comment about the flexible led strip of lights. Well, the lights are installed and i wish i had had the lights on the sewing machine sooner!!!!!!! Everything is so nice and bright and i can now actually SEE my 1/4 inch lines on my machines presser feet and guides. i highly recommend this product for anyone who is having trouble seeing what they are doing on their sewing machine. One person said they kept scraping their hands on the lights and for the life of me i cannot figure out how that happens as the light strip is way above the working area of my machine. i am very glad i bought this product. One thing i did that the instructions did not say to do was i routed the wiring around to the FRONT of the machine and then to the switch on the end of the machine. With the strip lights towards the front of the machine, you have more light on the sewing area to see what you are doing , not what you did . For 25 bucks , it is worth it . The strip section that you cut to fit , the section you dont use can be functional for another machine if you order from the company a cable , switch and power supply so the excess lights are not wasted. I have not decided what to do with the extra lamps yet as i only have my one sewing machine but I will think of something.

Love this light. I also loved the fact that you can get an extra plug to use the other half of the strip so your not wasting it but please add the extra switch to the drop next time. Without it it’s just waisted which defeats the purpose.

I love this product! The light on my machine was broken and this meant I could keep using my favorite machine with great visability!!!

If this was cordless, I'd be very interested. Love the cordless one I bought from Massdrop several months ago.

The sticky tape that holds the switch is pathetic. Keeps coming off of my machine. The light is great but also catches fuzz from the batting. Not impressed.

CCH5Probably double faced carpet tape or a strip of adhesive backed Velcro would hole the switch better than the sticky tape they provide with the device. Also if you have been touching the side of your machine to use the hand wheel on the machine , body oils could have built up on the surface of the machine preventing the tape to stick. I always use a cleaner on the surface of anything i am planning to attach sticky tape to to give the tape a fighting chance to do its work .

This light has made all the difference with visibility at my sewing machine. This LED strip has now replaced the three lamps I had sitting around the machine. :)

I have seen these on various sewing programs, but the prices I could find were rather steep. This is a great bargain and I can't wait for them to arrive.

Hi! I ordered the expansion kit - just call 1-480-941-4286. It is $15, no tax, no shipping costs. Tell them you ordered the led light set from Massdrop. They shipped me mine in 2 days!

I have a light like this and while it is nice and bright, the lights have sharp edges that scratch my hands when I am quilting.

Chicory-Stitcheryapplying a thin sheet of clear plastic sheeting over the light sections might help you keep from getting scratched by the LED lights , it should be placed over the lights with a slight air space between the plastic and the lamps. My experience with LED bulbs is that the lights even though very small , produce a substantial amount of warmth that might melt plastic coming in contact with the lamps. Possible anothet trick would be to use a thick clear nail polish and dab it along edges of the lamps. i say possible because i am not sure what the material the strip is made of and the solvents in the nail polish might dissolve the tape the lights are wired to. The nail polish if it is able to be used should be applied thick and let it dry over night. These are just suggestions and I cannot be held liable for their usage , use at your own risk.
