I have a light like this and while it is nice and bright, the lights have sharp edges that scratch my hands when I am quilting.

Chicory-Stitcheryapplying a thin sheet of clear plastic sheeting over the light sections might help you keep from getting scratched by the LED lights , it should be placed over the lights with a slight air space between the plastic and the lamps. My experience with LED bulbs is that the lights even though very small , produce a substantial amount of warmth that might melt plastic coming in contact with the lamps. Possible anothet trick would be to use a thick clear nail polish and dab it along edges of the lamps. i say possible because i am not sure what the material the strip is made of and the solvents in the nail polish might dissolve the tape the lights are wired to. The nail polish if it is able to be used should be applied thick and let it dry over night. These are just suggestions and I cannot be held liable for their usage , use at your own risk.
