I really like the Shanling M2X, to the point it's the device I've been using the most since I received it. It's intuitive, it has everything one needs, it has good output power and it sounds good.
Here's my full review: https://www.soundphilereview.com/reviews/shanling-m2x-review-3483/
I am new to the high end digital audio game, so please bear with me.
Can I stream and or download Tidal to this device? I am presently using my iPhone X and have tidal. It sounds very good on my BGVP’s and my Sennheiser 6xx’s through a small portable dac Bluetooth amp.
will my sound from this player improve drastically compared to my phone and can I use the tidal app on my phone and switch it to the shanling
blazer39Did I either say or imply that it did? Umm, no. He didn't ask what the specs were that make one better than the other, he just asked what the difference was just in terms of specs.
Does this allow for playlists including BOTH local files and TIDAL? Would the TIDAL library appear under "All Songs" Or does the TIDAL app run separately?
Rube-E-DooI'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's going to run entirely separately. This looks pretty much like the TIDAL implementation of Hiby, which means that TIDAL would only do online playback, so I assume you won't be able to use TIDAL as your sole player for both online and local tracks. Haven't tried Mtouch 2.0 though so I can't say for sure.
Rube-E-DooI think you can play your local files and stream TIDAL (or use this as a wireless receiver, kind of like the Radsone Earstudio), but the TIDAL offline feature requires an Android or iOS version of the app because of a licensing thing.
