Less than half the price of an aging Sony DMP-Z1 and people are laughing at this. I mean how dare a chi-fi selling a device $1k more than Cord Hugo 2 and iFi Pro iDSD? Cancel it!

Shanling has already said they are not selling these to Drop... Imagine spending this much on a product that will come with no support or warranty from Shanling.

Guys - why are you all worked up on the price? I wouldn't pay 3.6k for it, but the price doesn't bother me as this is not a necessity (like insulin or food). For all I care it could cost 360k. Also we have no right to comment / judge other peoples purchases as it is their hard earned money, and if they aren't buying nefarious items or items to cause harm to others they can do whatever they like with it.

The concept is interesting and the price might even be justifiable IF one could count on the company (and technology) supporting the design (and form factor) for another five years or so. If one thinks back five years and compares the state of audio then to today, the odds are are against it.

Shanling? $3600? Lol
No one of their previous DAP's was not the best option in its price range and not having top sound. I don’t know why this time should be different. Shanling good in usability, but not in sound tuning.
