Two questions in case anyone knows
a) Is this android? (I'm looking for non-android lean and efficient ones)
b) Is there a comparison to the Xduuo x3 II
Thanks in advance!
It's not Android. Uses Hiby OS.
I recommend an LG V20 (or related LG phone). Quad Sabre ESS DAC's, full Android for streaming, etc., headphone jack, later models support MQA and the other kicker, takes a 400 GB micro SD card. Stereophile recommended and available refurbished and unlocked for under $200 on Amazon. I love mine.
I run a OnePlus 6 with dual SIM for my business and personal lines. But the more I look at DAPs, the more I think I'll get a V20. I do sometimes miss having two separate phones. I'm always in the car, connecting via aux off the V20 would be sweet...
I don't even have a SIM card in my V20, I just use it with WiFi and use my iPhone 6 as my phone. I don't think I could handle another device beeping at me so I keep the V20 as almost strictly a music device, but its screen is so much bigger than my phone’s that I do some browsing with it, and I do use the camera.
True. V20s sounds amazing. Plus Tidal and other Android bonuses. Wifi browser even if you don't have it on a cell phone plan. Etc. Honestly I would highly suggest people just dump their Samsung S_, or iPhone on their cell phone plan and get a V40 or G7, V50 G8. The phones themselves compete nicely against Samsung and now you will have a one-in-all device. Check out Swappa for cheap deals on V30 and G7s. I had a V20, then a V30. I recommend spending the few extra $ for the V30. Or get a G7 for about the same as a V30 and it's even better. I'm using a G7 now. It's better than the V30 it replaced. G7s sell cheap in the used market likely because they had such a bad issue with bootloop in the g5(I think it was the 5). I used to use a FiiO X3 digital out to a Chord Mojo. I'm not saying the V20, 30,40,G7 is as good, but it's SOOOOO close its not worth the extra bulk and inconvenience. Not even close. IMHO. I A/B'ed both set ups for about an hour or two. In my opinion, if you have to A/B back and forth over and over and you hear a maybe so slight improvement every once in a while...... Well you get the drift of my thoughts. But A/B'ing my V20 to the Note 4 it replaced? Not even close.
Sorry for the long post but I thought I'd share my thoughts on something I dug into and maybe save some effort for anyone interested.
Thanks, I didn't know about the G7.
Yeah, I didn't know about the G7, either. Just knew about the V series. What makes the V30 better? Because if we're gonna A/B stuff, I agree on the sound quality and simplicity...
How do you feel g7 is better than v30 getting my brother to buy one for a phone and music player to Dave him some money because i just have him one of my quad ba iems for christmas. Does the g7 sound as good as v30 i know our has same audio hard ware right?
