Hi everyone,
I wanted to get all the details sorted out before causing anymore confusion or panic on this drop and I'm sorry if it seems like I've been neglecting the discussion. This drop was set up by a previous Massdrop Team member and it has taken awhile to figure out what exactly happened and where, but here's the short version of what happened:
Some time ago, the vendor for this drop removed the boosters from their blister packs to save space and cut shipping costs. Unaware of this, we ordered our samples and photographed them as they came(with blister packs). Then we ran the drop, placed the order and proceeded as usual. At which point people started reaching out to Customer Support and we became aware there was a problem.
For a bit more info, you should know that Wizards of the Coast only released these all foil packs in blister pack displays, not ever as booster boxes. Mapping is when you look for a pattern in the way WOTC places rare cards within their booster boxes. Since these never came in booster boxes, mapping is simply not possible. We know how prominent mapping is in the community and choose the vendors that do loose packs very carefully. It takes a long time for us to trust a vendor to do loose pack drops and the ones we use have been successfully doing loose pack drops with us for almost 2 years now. We have always encouraged our users to post their rare and valuable cards in the discussion, because we know there will not be an issue.
Based on all the information we have though, everyone should have received perfectly new and unaltered packs. The user that appears to have received all basic non-foil lands has either been subject to a manufacturing defect at the packing facility, or something else all together. We will work to sort that out, but we are very confident these packs were not tampered with at our vendors locations. As this is so common within the industry, you are right to be suspicious and we take these claims incredibly serious.
If you are upset about not receiving the boosters in their blister packs, please reach to customer support again, and we will take care of you.
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve these concerns and issues.

TrevorLYou guys offered me 10 dollars and didnt even appologize it took over a month to even get that reply from you. Terrible customer service. The packs werent mapped they were opened and resealed. Shady business practice and bad customer service lost you my business.

Jank rares in mine. If tylers picture is correct those arent even in the same cycle. Dont open them send them back wish i had read his post before opening mine. Good luck to everyone else. Im personally done with massdrop non sealed booster box stuff this is the 3rd time to get burned for me. What's worse is that this was supposed to be sealed. Shame on me for trusting. ÷(

bjellerI contacted support and Aaron said they were trying to determine if their warehouse received the boosters without the packaging, then they need to decide how to approach the issue for the community as a whole. That was 10 days ago, haven't heard anything since.
While I would like to wait for Massdrop's official response, I agree with your sentiment and will no longer be participating in any Magic drops. Very disappointing.

Mine were also not sealed in the original blister packs. Ive been very disappointed with nonsealed product from massdrop recently.

Mine also did not come in the blister pack. Will be contacting support. As previously stated, it is irresponsible to post product pictures that do not match what we are getting, and not mention the difference in the product description.

I'm also quite disappointed after receiving this drop. I was expecting them to be shipped in the blister packs, and with what Landshark posted, (though it could just be him trying to get free cards) opens up the possibility that the packs have been tampered with.
If the blister packs were not going to be included in the actual drop, then Massdrop should not have used the image of the blister in the drop at all, or specifically mention that we will all be receiving loose packs, and not the actual sealed product.
I know this was probably done to reduce shipping cost, but as a collector it still disappoints me that Massdrop would do this.

I think i'm done with massdrop. Disappointing customer service I've been waiting for over a month now for a reply to the original email, I finally get one from another customer not the company. They sent out obviously mapped packs one guy pulled all basic lands now they avoid the problem. Whatever there are other vendors. Thanks for the reply otterslaughter.

bjellerNo problem! I'm personally done ordering any Magic products on Massdrop. I have a few drops I'm currently waiting to end, but after what happened here and how they dropped the Vaping community, I think I'm done with Massdrop as well.

Echoing what at least one other has said that I'm disappointed that these did not ship in the blister packs. One of the really nice things about these packs to begin with.

Ital27My guess is to reduce shipping cost. If anyone is disappointed with this drop, I recommend listening to Tyler.H to contact Massdrop and voice your disappointment directly to them. If enough people contact them maybe it will help future drops in being more transparent.

Good news group. The vendor just confirmed that your orders are now on the way. Tracking has been uploaded to the transaction page. Please allow 24-48 hours for the page to reflect the latest status of your order.
If there’s anything else we can do to make your Massdrop experience better, feel free to contact us via “Contact Support” button in your transaction page: https://www.massdrop.com/transactions.
