Received my key case and am very pleased. This case is identical to the one I purchased from Ashland three years ago for $30 with the same quality and craftsmanship. I'm not sure where the complaints were coming from 2 and 3 years ago. The shell cordovan in the key case appears to be the same as that used in my Tony the Ant wallet that cost considerably more than the wallet offered on Massdrop.

This would be a much more practical product, and an instabuy for me, if it had an attachment point for a lanyard/key fob. I can't fathom why it doesn't.

I recently purchased one of these custom made in Garnet shell and I can't wait for them to be back in stock so I can grab a few more. Hopefully they stock up so we can see this drop again!

Not to pile on, but I agree that the quality of the leather has dropped considerably from my previous key cover. Sadly, my friend's puppy ate that one. Now the pup won't eat this one at all.
Honestly, this is more of a _bizarre_ special when you consider I paid less for these wallets the last two times they've dropped. $24.71 (including tax) and $25.98 (including shipping and tax). Disappointing.

Thanks Ian, I will definitely purchase from mass drop again, no need to contact customer support, thick leather or thin leather, all I was saying is that, it is not the same "quality" as the cordovan wallet I purchased a year ago...As far as the "presentation box," I think mehere was referring to the box that your piece comes in when you order from Ashland....While I understand what Chicago Comb is saying, I would disagree with the notion that just because something is on sale you shouldn't get what you normally would if you paid full price (unless it was noted), that is the point of buying from mass drop....If you bought something on sale at a retailer, I would imagine, you would expect the packaging and box, regardless of the price (unless otherwise noted), again, I understand the message, however, I also understand that people buy from mass drop because they want to receive the same item at a discounted price and for some people, that includes the packaging. Again, I appreciate the opportunity to purchase this item at a discounted price.

I think there are some misconceptions being posted on this thread.
First off, thickness does NOT equal better quality leather. Leather is shaved down to a certain thickness depending on what it's going to be used for (and there are also natural variations in the thickness). A thin piece of Cordovan comes from the same number of "square inches" of the animal as a thick piece. For this particular application, thinner probably works just as well or better than a thick piece which may not fold properly, or just may not be necessary.
I don't remember what price these sold at ($20-something dollars?), but the idea that you'd get a Horween shell cordovan key case, hand-made by artisans in Chicago, AND in addition to that, that it should also arrive in a "nice presentation box"... that's asking a little much, don't you think? You need to be a little bit realistic about what it costs to make things.
