I M O. I can't understand the price for what you get; the recent Timex Waterbury is ten times the quality and watch this is. Maybe this should be a $25 watch,if that!! I don't know why so many have been sold; at this budget level the Timex makes a lot more sense. Maybe "individualism" is stronger than common sense. To an extent most of us want our own "image" otherwise why is there so much choice in all product lines; but this watch indeed this brand is so vastly overpriced. Like the range of brands in Rayf 's comment, these are just trash, there are more and better budget watches around to offer at this price point. "Fossil,Lorus,Timex etc."

JAoneThats a bit rough mate ,, I have both a Shield and Timex and the Shield is a much tougher well made watch , yes they are a dress/casual vrs a Diver but the Shield has a head and shoulders above solider build , like comparing a Rolex Sub to say a Seiko 007 , both good but one has a much more substantual feel and you know what one ,, same with the Shield vrs Timex .

JAoneI find that my Shield is not far behind my Omega 300m if quality of feel .

Yes the Omega has a much better fit and finish , movement , bracelet and probably longevity but it should when you compare a 6k watch to a $75 watch .

beanerds2That Shield doesn't look too bad; maybe Drop just gets the ones that aren't popular, and maybe their photos are flattering. This one looks streets different to the one they are selling. But I have looked at some on-line and looks like you have to sift through the rubbish to find the gems. Your one certainly looks good for $75. Shame the only way I can get my hands on one to closely examine is to buy one. I know $75 is not a lot but I really don't like wasting money, especially after losing so much over the years on some of my not so good watch purchases.

beanerds2I think my opinion is partly influenced by the ridiculous crown arrangement. But the Shield in your other comment does look so much better in your own photo of it than "Drops" pictorial effort. Also I do believe you are a "Diver" style fan in particular, whereas I don't really have a strong bias towards any particular style, if I did probably sports/military/aviation chronos. But I did buy a "Minimalist" style chrono with an "antique white" dial from Panzera in Sydney a couple of weeks ago; and although a bit different from my other watches I am learning to appreciate diversity!!!! Also I believe in general the "Diver" style market is a lot stronger here in Australia than other countries.

JAoneI agree , but Paneri are the devolopers of this protection system and people don't bag them , yes I know it look stupid but I like watches that are outside the square , so to say . See photo .

True on the Divers being popular here , perhaps because 90% of the polulation live 1 hour from the ocean ? , I snorkle a lot over here in Perth as there is many cool spots , wrecks , reef's Dolphins , sharks !!! and all my Divers get worn , the Shield I showed just now has not because it's still a bit cold but it will get used . All my Seiko divers , 7 off and all my Aragon divers , 4 off , my Techno Marine and my Omega have all been with me snorkling and zero problems so far as you would think and I don't think the Shield will be any different as I have showered with it plenty and zero issues yet . But yes the crown protector if anything will make a formidable weapon if I get attacked in the city anytime during the summer . Personally I am looking forward to it .

beanerds2Yes, I live 8ks form the beach in Queensland but always take my watch off to swim; that's if I do go onto the beach; usually prefer a pool with a bar close by!!! It's funny how many of us take our water resistant watches off to swim; especially the expensive ones.

beanerds2Very Earnshaw. I actually did order the Gantz for my son but it was lost in transit as was the Bulova Curv; I did actually replace the Gantz with an Earnshaw Westminster skeleton currently at 139 sterling and that actually arrived from UK in 8 days ,all good. I have the Orient Kamasu coming , or at least it says it is at the moment. I think the U.S postal systems to send to Australia are suffering at present. The last two watches I got through Chrono24 were out of New York; the last one an Alpina Seastrong went missing within a week, and the Victorinox I bought before arrived stuffed, just wouldn't work even after a battery change, replacing the movement not an option as that cost almost twice that of the discounted price in the first place. It's great to live here, currently better in Perth: but we have to pay for it!! No discounted watches here, except Starbuy out of Sydney - good range of diver's watches currently a Seiko turtle at half price!! Anyway, nice speaking with you. Just a footnote if you are looking for something out of the ordinary and IMO crazy looking watches try "ElectricianZ" from the swiss makers responsible for Sevenfriday; check out the glow in dark shots, very very different.
