The more time I spend outdoors the more I come to believe that "waterproof" is a myth and a marketing buzzword. This is especially true with feet. You're going to get wet, either from external water like rain and snow or from sweat. Best to learn how to deal with it! I'm sure these have their uses but I typically prefer light weight, breathable and quick drying.

Received mine yesterday. Little tight in the calf but foot fits fine once you squeeze into them. Bit of crinkly noise when putting them on from the inner lining. No noise while wearing.

I’m looking at these as a possibility for golf. I live in FL and rain is inevitable. I have decent rain gear, but i Don’t like wearing ”waterproof” golf shoes, so this might actually be of some use.
Has as anyone here used them like This or something similar?

I use the for hiking and backpack trips when rain is expected. Works much better that water proof bots.

I just learned a valuable lesson when it came to riding in these during heavy rain. The lesson was, "don't". They filled up to the brim and my feet sloshed around in water. Having to stop every few minutes to push the water out from the ankle up was less than desirable. It was like wearing ankle weights, and when you're already 100k into a ride, the last thing you need is more weight to tire your legs out.

I have a pair of sealskins I use when it is snowy for warm camp socks. I would never hike in them. I bought showers pass socks for cycling and they soaked through. I returned them to the store and they took them back saying they had several returns. My sealskins don't get soaked cycling. My two cents.

I've hiked in Sealskinz socks and find that they are fantastic. Day hiking only, with a day pack and non-waterproof approach shoes (I hate the idea of Goretex in shoes). Not multi-day affairs with leather hiking boots, of course.

Nonbeliever in waterproof socks. Unless you shave your legs and tape tops - I’m unwilling. Wool and good drainage are better imo

Yup. Non believer in waterproof shoes or socks. Drainage. And drying off at destination.

When I washed mine in the regular wash cycle they came out full of water. Guess you need to turn them inside out before washing. On the plus side these are the first socks from Massdrop that fit. Had to return some Darn Tough and give away 3 pairs of Fitsox. Buyer beware.
