I have a pair of sealskins I use when it is snowy for warm camp socks. I would never hike in them.
I bought showers pass socks for cycling and they soaked through. I returned them to the store and they took them back saying they had several returns. My sealskins don't get soaked cycling.
My two cents.
LessdistressedI've hiked in Sealskinz socks and find that they are fantastic. Day hiking only, with a day pack and non-waterproof approach shoes (I hate the idea of Goretex in shoes). Not multi-day affairs with leather hiking boots, of course.
