I watch these shows and all I can keep thinking of is, HOW CAN THE FOOD EVER BE HOT?
Sorry but I can cook decently and present pretty well but FFS I will refuse to serve or eat cold food (was hot) and nothing in these shows implies they are hot ever.

BrainFlushI had no idea about what these things even were, but from what i understood they have nothing to do with food preservation , heat or such, they are meant to be a help for.....? something i guess. Never seen anyone use these and i can't think of any scenario where i might want this

Sir_PlaysalotThis is what they are for. Seems they should have added a few more images to the description page.

PixelPusher21Oh I know what they are for.
My issue is with all the steps to plate the food, how the hell can it be warm when served?
I feel like people eat cold food. When a regular restaurant can barely bring hot food to a table. How can a chef who spent 5 mins dressing a plate possibly serve it hot?

Sir_PlaysalotI'm referring to the time to complete a plate using various kitchen presentation tools. You know, making it look fancy. By then the food is getting cold. Etc.

BrainFlushI know, I was responding to Sir_Playsalot. I think keeping food hot or cold is only a problem if you are making a fancy dish for a larger amount of people. If you are cooking fancy for your significant other I don't see his being an issue. Restaurants usually do not plate food unless it is ready to go out to the table (fancier ones, less fancy restaurants use warmers to keep food warm) Of course, using the stainless steel rings would be better than acrylic anyways because they will keep food hotter and colder than plastic but normally you only use these molds for a minute tops when plating.
