As far as IEMs go, this one is actually not that impressive. My first set of IEMs when I was a kid was the E2c, and those were incredible for what I could afford back then (the Sony PSP era!). I'd waited for ages to save up and buy the SE535s and they were... Rather disappointing. It's not that they're terrible, but they're so neutral, that they come off rather bland and unexciting. Perhaps that's your taste and exactly what you're looking for, but I felt like they sucked out the life of my media. I listened to them again rather recently paired with a Chord Mojo, and they really have not fared any better. The bass is not very meaty, leaving the audio feeling hollow.

NiroAgree. It might sound impressive for first time ime user. But for those that have tried many types of iem, it comes as just OK. In any case, ones can get the limited "red" edition at the suggested price, which offers slightly more improvement.
My impression for the 535 limited edition is that it is good to listen to music that focused on vocal or mid range like bossa, jazz, but not so for the current mainstream songs.

NiroYeah I tend to agree. It's not for me. Someone who loves the sound sig of the Senn 598's might love these because no low end. I had a couple sets of the entry level ones years ago and became a Shure fanboy. Then a couple years ago I had money to buy something decent, got these, sent them back a week later. Not my cuppa tea.
