I have extremely sensitive hearing, and i can't hear the difference between my $2 chinese phone headphones, or a professional setup. Well then.

MrBraxThat may be something but even with the most sensitive hearing in the world, where you can hear snowflakes hitting the ground, if you're tone deaf that still makes any opinion you have about earphones invalid. I lost 70% of the hearing in my right ear because of a motorcycle accident that blew out my right tympanic membrane due to a basal skull fracture and not just in my good ear but in my bad ear I can still hear the vast difference between almost any high end earphones and some cheap mass produced knockoffs. I have more than a few pair of Shures, among several others, but these Shure SE846 are hands down some of the best earphones you can get, in my opinion. The quality and fidelity of the sound is truly amazing. What surprised me the most about these and the other Shure IEs that I've tried so far is the quality of the bass without superseding or distorting the mids and highs. Among my collection, these and my Sennheiser HD 800 phones are my 2 favorite pairs. I would also go so far as to say that in my opinion these have the same if not actually better volume and sound quality, but these are a lot more comfortable to wear for long periods than the bulky, large, over ear HD 800's.
