And another week has gone by and still no 846's OR an update on the status :( This is my first drop and while I understand delays for Kickstarter campaigns, the "slight unexpected delay" (quote) that more than double the delivery time in combination with sparse communication from MD is very disappointing. This experience will definitely make me think twice if I want to do another drop and expect delivery 6-8 weeks after the end of the drop. rant over
Honestly, I'll give them some credit. I don't think they anticipated this level of participation on the drop. The maximum discount was set at 8 people for this drop, and in one of the above posts, they indicated that the shipments come in waves of 15 at a time. By that token, a drop with just 10-15 participants (probably a reasonable expectation at the time given the price) would've been shipped out within the 10 business days they estimated.
But no, it hit 57 participants. There should've been some setting of expectations once they realized they'd blow through their estimates. That's the failure here. It's fine; it happens. That said, it really does need to be a lesson for the future. This can't happen again. It's my first drop, so I can excuse it, but given the amount I paid, I really shouldn't be excusing it. lol
