These compare well with my Harbeth P3ESR's which cost considerably more. In my system, sound signature wise, the P3's are warmer, the Sierra's more neutral with more apparent detail. In that, the Sierras remind my of the Etymotic ER4S, detailed, yet without added harshness or sibilance. If you're hearing that, it's likely your system or the recording that is the problem.
These are excellent speakers.
InabitThanks, I was wondering how they sound! I am a happy owner of the Harbeth P3esr special 40th anniversary edition, and I really love them... you should mention that the harbeth are smaller and closed. They are incredibly accurate in the mid range, which is why the voices sound incredibly real...
I really liked the detailed sound of the ribbon tweeter a lot over my KEF LS50. But I needed to be in the right spot. LS50 is more forgiving in that respect. I recently got a Dynaudio Special 40 and unfortunately that is my primary speaker now. Before that I seem to be preferring the Sierra over LS50 as long as I was situated exactly at the right spot.
Excellent monitors---great soundstage and dynamics! Paired them with a Peachtree Amp driving 150 watts/channel. As good at low volume as they are at louder volumes. Great product for a great company--thanks Massdrop!
