I was so tempted by this one. I'm hard pressed to find a good pair of speakers for my application. The best choices at this price point -- basically these or the Philharmonic BMR's -- will be borderline with respect to sensitivity. My amps are a pair of really sweet modified Dynaco Mark IV monoblocks, fronted by an Audible Illusions Modulus 3B preamp (analog source is a vintage Rega Planar 3 with Incognito rewire kit). The Dynas are probably only good for about 40 watts, so I'm at the low end of the power requirements for just about all quality affordable speakers. I'm currently using a pair of vintage Klipsch Forte's, and they are super sensitive, a great match spec-wise for low power tube amps, but those horns wear me out, and my wife hates the big box look. In the end I think I will pass on these and go for the Philharmonics.

pshanks01The rest of the story: I was recommended to try Focal speakers, and I got a pair of the Aria 906's with matching stands. Not impressive at first, but after break in they are fantastic, and not at all power hungry. I'm a happy camper with this choice.
