Is there a replacement for this shelter? The only other one I have seen that is built like this is the Mountain Hardware Hunker 1. The Hunker 1 is expensive though because they no longer sell it.

I was seriously considering this until I saw the weight. Man, it's heavy for a single-person tent. I'm guessing it's extremely durable, though.

I was wondering what made this tent so damn expensive. A $700, single person, single wall tent means it should have something special. Turns out it's designed for military use. The upper fabric is lined with eVent (a waterproof breathable membrane, similar to Gore-tex) and Nylon floor sheet is always a good thing.

It's fairly heavy for a one person shelter/tent but it's virtually bombproof.

Wow, that % off...
Here's a pic of two people in it. http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=115716&d=1269554429
Has anyone ever used/seen one of these in real life? How are they?

As a general note for pictures a scale us really helpful with things like this where size is the most important aspect. An item of known size really helps, and with a tent an actual person using it never goes amiss.
