You would be better off by buying a vintage Singer. Models 201-2 and 403 are dependable machines.

The picture of the machine does not jive with the written description. I see no slider speed control, nor a "Needle up/down" button. Can anyone who bought this machine confirm, yes or no???? It's a cheap machine, as sewing machines go, so I doubt that it has these things.....could be wrong, of course.

WintersewistHi @Wintersewist, Thank you for the callout. You are correct that those two features are not on this machine. The copy has been removed on those two notes.

SandyLucasYou're welcome. I also don't see a locking stitch button or a stop/start button. Who the heck writes these advertisements????????? Someone who knows nothing about sewing machines apparently.

Will this handle denim? I would like to hem my own pants, make bags, and alter clothes to fit me better.

RoDillaHi @RoDilla, In my experience, most machines can home sewing machines can handle sewing denim if you have a very sharp needle and you're doing it occasionally. I would not use this for regular use of hemming my jeans though.

Notice it doesn't mention a warranty. If defective, who covers this machine? I am seriously considering joining drop as gift for my wife, but concerned about warranty.

AudogFrom what I understand it comes with the manufacturers warranty. This was on this site previously and that's what they were saying.
