RathsIt's fully class A at low gain though, so at most comfortable/normal listening levels. At 'high' listening volume or with very high current output you're in class AB.

verifonixOr anything then needs some power. HD 650 easy to power but something a bit harder to run at 90db/mw like Arya would run it into class AB. Which isnt great. When you can buy fully discreet class A for around the same price (when full price) thats also not chifi.

RathsArya, yeah sure. I fully intend to use mine with HD650/HD800 though ;) the high-Z might be nice there too. Which discrete 'true class A' amp would you think of in the same price range? Asgard 3 is single ended only, Jotunheim 2 is actually quite similar to SA-1, not full class A at higher output.

Rathsto be fair that is a debated topic... so don't present it like it's a fact we don't truly know at what stage it switches to AB mode
