How stiff are these belts? In other words, would they work with a firearm holster?

I purchased one for my dad, and I believe that they have a pretty good rigidity to them. But remember, these are ratchet belts, so you can tighten the belt in small increments to get an accurate hold for your beer belly and .22 ruger.
