I got the last drop of this board and, while it is a decent board, it is definitely cheap, hollow-sounding and loud. This board with browns feels like a gritty red, but sounds like by boards with blues or greens in them. The keycaps are thin and cheap feeling and the keeb is not that much heavier than my Logitech SE mouse with the weight installed. I have never had any problems with the board and I do use is many nights during the week when I just want backlight and don't care about feel or other aesthetic things. I still feel like it would have been a better deal buying for $10 cheaper on Amazon with free shipping on top of the discount.
Anyone know if controls like CTRL-ALT-DEL or ALT-F4 work on this keyboard? I have used other keyboards with FN and the just wont do it. I also have a special case where my Steam overlay is CTRL-Shift-Home. Just wondering if it will work.
haliphaxPro is available via KP Republic for $53, and probably ships within the week. I got my non-pro version for $40 and it showed up in 4 days. I want for Drop to be good, but I don't consider "barely discounted rates on stuff you could get months earlier on the internet" to be meeting that standard.
It's a pity, because there's plenty of other awesome stuff going on in the keyboard area of the community.
So basically we can use kailh or gateron switches which would make this hot swappable like the drop premium boards? Confused about "Kailh hotswap sockets, but the specs show Gateron hotswap sockets."
Board looks exactly like the KH61 on drop; 5 pin and 3 pin compatible, keycaps are decent, detachable USB-C. Check out my review on the KH61 if you’re curious.
I have the xs84 and the xs87. The software is nice. Though, when it is running it disables the ability to change settings from the keyboard, it has to be done through the software.
