You're paying for a bluetooth controller for RGB strips. You can buy RGB light strips separately, but this is a fair price for the SHLighting controller, which you can plug into any strip. I have one of these behind my monitor, and I want to get another one to control the lights behind my PC desk. That way they'll both show up on one app.
SH also makes lightbulbs, they are about $30 on Amazon.
Sometimes this thing will not connect to the app. I reinstalled the app and then had no issues. It is cool using an app to control it vs. a point-and-click remote. You can also schedule on/off times.

You can see I have the strip behind my monitor. It is pretty bright, and does all different colors.
