Oh wait, my bad: it was the mid crew sock set, so maybe that one does ship.

Hmm, I paid for two sets and I live in Oz. The red "doesn't ship to your country" button didn't come up as it does for other products (eg Ex Officio). So hopefully I will either receive my socks, or a refund. I've bought these socks from an Australian supplier before, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

I have a bunch of Smartwool PhD socks and find them to be supremely durable and comforable. I live in a warm climate so I don't need much insulation. Highly recommend. I'm in on these for sure.
That said, seeing the comments of others makes me want to try DarnTough too.

Due to the sensitive nature of shipping socks internationally, we are able to ship only some of the socks on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws.....

Anyone know how are these socks compared to darn tough , i trail run so i really beat up my merino wool socks , these are cheaper but also only %50 wool, not all wool products are the same, recently purchased a good deal on bergans merino wool, its ok but when i sweat you can really smell the merino lol.

SajorDepends on the DT model but generally I am much more satisfied with the durability of DT socks. I've used a couple different weights of the PhD series for years now, probably have gone through close to twenty pairs of them. They don't last long especially if you have any kind of loose fit/rubbing, but they are very comfortable. Whatever lycra fibers they are using tend to break much sooner than most other stretchy things I've used...not much of a functional issue but they start to look a little ratty. Except for the heavier weights, I've given up on Smartwool because in the end they just aren't a good value and don't have anything over other brands of high quality socks that are also comfortable and well made but last considerably longer. The blends (any brand) that use more synthetic fibers mixed in with the merino last a touch longer but I also find them cooler and they manage moisture better than high-percentage merino...feet feel better in the blends after a long day except in very cold temps where more merino is usually more comfortable. The DT Vertex socks are my current favorites for hiking and trail runs.

Crashkgi just looked on amazon myself and they are priced at 15$ a pop, while the Massdrop price + shipping is about 13$ and some change. You only save about 2 bucks by buying it through Massdrop and could take forever to ship but I wouldnt say its cheaper on Amazon.
