Awwww... "Note: This drop is for a 120-pack of Gateron switches. At checkout, choose out of the following switch options: Black, Blue, Brown, Clear, and Red."
No greens? Really??? I accidentally ordered a set of the Gateron Greens on the last drop before I realized they're non-SMD LED compatible. I figured it's not that big of a deal because I can just drill out the back, but is there any chance of you offering the Green Version of these? I can't seem to even find these online anywhere else just to buy them.

Seems like you're right or at least I hope you are. I hit commit at 39.99 and chose Green. Thanks for the heads up.

CodeMonkeylooks like it is a new addition for this drop as green wasn't ready the first time this drop went out.

AntonyFaragReally? I must have missed that drop, which is odd, since I've become a green switch fanatic. I bought a yellow switch keyboard, a red switch one, a blue one and they were all way too soft for me. I basically blew 4-500 dollars on keyboards I just gifted away, because they were completely dysfunctional for me. The yellow and red ones were so soft, they seemed to get actuated just by breathing on them. I was introduced to a whole new level of typo hell.
I finally found this CM Storm QuickFire TK Limited Edition keyboard with green switches, that several reviewers ragged about being too stiff, but when I received it from amazon I was completely won over. I was almost about to give up on mechanical switches, but now I absolutely love them with these green puppies. With those little rubber o-rings added too, I swear, typing has almost become like good sex.
On the last Gateron drop I jumped in on, just a few weeks back, they had all the colors in PCB or Plate mount, but I didn't notice they weren't SMD LED compatble, until after I ordered them. I honestly can't believe how hard it is to find green switches in general and especially SMD LED Plate Mount green switches, but I just got into mechanical keyboards recently.

CodeMonkeygateron is a high quality clone of cherry type switches so before they can offer a clone of one of the cherry switches they need to wait for related patients to expire. I don't know if that is why greens came out when they did but it is a strong possibility. Basically that drop you participated in was the first time gateron had green switches available. we had a drop for this line of switches back about 3 months ago before the greens were around so it wasn't an option at that time.

AntonyFaragWell, to be perfectly honest, I am still very far away from being any kind of aficionado when it comes to switches, so high quality and no quality are still relatively the same to me. I did notice, though from when I got this keyboard that came with Cherry MX greens (the only one I could find actually), that green switches or switches this stiff in general, 80g, were rare. I started looking for replacements, just in case, due to the fact that I sort of abuse keyboards and I originally was looking for only SMD LED Cherry MX greens, but I got to the point where couldn't care less who made them, but couldn't find Green switches on Amazon, NewEgg, E-bay and a few other places I searched. I was even upset when I found out that Razor's own or in-house "new" green switches were just basically blues with a shorter travel because I wanted one of their new keyboards for the Macro and other options.

CodeMonkeyyeah you don't want to touch razer knock offs of any sort they are modified kahil switches which are even worst then the original kahil which are pretty bad. you can get some with inconstant feeling and improperly mounted springs. this smd model was basically made in particular for the new team wolf swapable switch boards.

AntonyFaragOh dear lawd... That remids me. I was so happy when I found a wireless, backlit, mechanical keyboard a while back. The Rapoo Black KX 5.8GHz. It was my very first attempt at a mechanical. I didn't even know at the time that mechanical switches came in different spring strengths. It came with Kahil yellows, which I found at a later time were the equivalent to MX reds. Such an awesome keyboard, but holy mother it was soooooo damn sensitive, I had to try and hold my breath while typing. The irony was that my next keyboard came with MX reds because through my logic, red must be stiffer. LOL!!!

CodeMonkeyyeah Rapoo just sucks. here is the wireless you should have gotten. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/varmilo-vb87m-bluetooth this drop is super popular there are some issues with bluetooth that they are working on but part of it is probably a windows or mac problem but i haven't had any problems on my windows 10 after initial setup. (namely make sure computer can't turn off bluetooth devices to conserve power.) you need to be really quick with this drop it goes fast.

AntonyFaragActually I loved the Rapoo keyboard, but the switches were just WAY too soft. Personally, I won't touch Win10, for various reasons. I just got a new tower that set me back 10K and I put Win7 Pro on it. :P LOL!

That varmilo looks sweet, BUT I hate bluetooth. If it comes up for another drop, I might try it out though, thnx.
