Has anyone tried using the sub out / coaxial in to have a coaxial in and sub out at the same time? I'm trying to figure out if it is supposed to be a TRRS connection.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot do both at once. It's a "sensing" jack, based on what's plugged in. A TS plug will short the ring to tip, thus telling the amp to use it as a SPDIF input. A TRS would leave the trigger in the open position, and the jack would function as subwoofer out.

Given the way SMSL takes liberties with the English language, I took that to mean that you needed a converter to go from RCA->3.5mm.
