Love to see how this works purely as a transport. I believe that was their main design goal seeing as they have more outputs than inputs. Wish they made a transport only without DAC or amp with this form factor. Already have an SU-8 so this would work nicely, without needing to boot laptop or computer. The drop was for $229.99.
I have one for more than 1 year. Given how its ports are arranged, it was definitely designed as a transporter first, a digital player 2nd, and a DAC and a headphone AMP 3rd and 4th. With only a micro-usb port for input, I find it barely useful as a DAC. An optical input would make it more useful as a DAC. I use it mostly to stream Tidal and Spotify through Airplay, spend $10 on Tuneblade to stream from PCs. I also play my own music files through the front microSD slot. A 256G Samsung EVO costs less than $30.
