I have an SMSL IDOL from a previous drop, and regret the purchase. The quality it horrible. A constant hiss that cannot be prevented, and loud enough to hear over quieter music. Poorly made junk. Your built-in DAC in your smartphone is MUCH better than this piece of trash.

I have the idol+ and it sound amazing for it price. Maybe your idol has a problem.
