This one or the xDuoo TA-01 DAC/Amp?

muphastaxDuoo has no line out so you're stuck with headphone amp only. It also has a lower sample rate DAC. Not sure if you use any >24b/>192kHz files but if you do the xDuoo won't play them.
M6 has no line in so you have to use the DAC to get sound out of it.
I'm pretty sure the xDuoo has better output power, but is a tube amp so it is colored output. M6 has pretty high output impedance so probably won't sound good with low impedance cans.
You're making some sacrifices either way and it really comes down to which ones you want to make. Either one will be better than your computer/smartphone's stock output though.
For my part, I'd rather get the m6 because that way I have the freedom to let its DAC drive my powered monitors when I can use them, and use my headphones with it when that needs to happen.

HeeftyThanks for the reply. I'm currently using the Monoprice dac/amp and I'm unsure if it is worth upgrading. I currently am not using any hi-rez files. I do have a Sony PHA-2 so my hi-rez needs will be met there, but for my desktop, I'm just wondering how much I'll have to step up in order to get better than my Monoprice unit which has line in, line out, USB in, and pre-out.
I'll be getting a Sony hi-rez walkman soon for my portable hi-rez desires. I do appreciate you taking the time to reply.

muphastaTo be honest, the Monoprice is probably as good or better than either of these if you're not running hi res files through it. 192/24 or 384/32 can be downsampled to 96/24 and you'll probably never notice the difference anyway. You'll probably just want to skip the higher sample rate files since they're more expensive anyway.
HeeftyAs specified in its description, the xDuoo TA-01 DAC/amp's RCA jacks double as both input for the amp and output for the DAC.

mattrisGood to know that it doubles for future reference. I've never seen that anywhere but Massdrop, but tbh, I haven't really looked that closely for it either. It's not a device I care enough about to spend much time researching. I don't like tube amps.

Heefty" you'll probably never notice the difference anyway " . tsk-tsk. That's our biggest problem here. We do notice the difference and that makes us very sad. B-bye money, hello hifi sound. :)
