Anyone try it with Ubuntu Linux? I haven’t been able to get DSD to play natively in the DAC, although several players like Kodi, JRiver and HQPlayer will play .dsf files, but the DAC shows them as PCM. I've only been able to get VLC to play HD digital files in their native resolution, although HQPlayer will upsample everything to 384 khz and sound very good. JRiver will play ISOs as well, but again with only PCM 48 khz showing up at the DAC.

I got Jriver to play DSD natively. There is two setting I had to change. "DSD and output format" and "Bitstream". I even got Jriver to convert normal PCM Lossless CD rips to DSD on the fly. It has a interesting sound not sure I like it. But it sounds different than normal PCM upconversion.

Yep, I concur on all of that!! I plan to install Audiophile Linux, a specialized Arch distro on a dedicated SSD. Also, I found that about 36 hour of bur-in with the Tara Labs CASCADE free download really helped whip the unit into shape!!

I use MPD. DoP (DSD over PCM) needs to be enabled.
