Looking g for my first dac, but the lack of usb port scares me since I'm not audio savvy and was planning to use this with my pcs on board audio card

MooseGooseI think a USB DAC and amp bypass your audio card completely

VibrumSo, will this be worse for me? I'm not even sure I have analog outputs in my computer...

MooseGooseDo you know the model sound card you have? It sounds like you're trying to amp with a dac

VibrumHehe, probably. I have acquired two sets of so so headphones, and I realize I need a portable amp and one for my pc. I have the M50X and the FOSTEX T50. I realize I need a DAC\AMP but in the case of my pc, I'm only using the integrated solution provided with the motherboard, so my question is:
is there a way to get the out put for this DAC from my computer ? do I need a DAC\AMP combo? should I go with a USB version ? how would I go towards passing the signal directly via Coaxial ?
sorry to pester you guys with all the questions, but I'm super new to this audio business

MooseGooseYou're not pestering, that's what this place is for:) And it all depends on how much you want to spend. The best quality sound would be coming through USB, because cooking from your pc sound chip the signal will already be converted and you can basically just amp it. if you do usb, the signal doesn't touch your integrated chip at all, it goes through the USB cord (which takes its signal from your motherboard), your better-sounding DAC converts the signal from computer code (digital) to signal that can go through headphones (analogue). So the audio coming from your PC's 3.5 mm jack is the audio output from your sound card's DAC. You can amp that signal. As for whether to get a combo (which will be USB), a separate DAC and amp (dac connects through USB, amp connects to dac, headphones to amp) or just an amp (use the less than stellar dac on your sound card, connect amp to 3.5 jack I think, amp that signal), that's all up to your budget. If you're trying for under $100, a DAC/amp combo is probably your best bet. More than $150 and you can get a decent dedicated amp and separate dac.
