A Balanced DAC With Several Bundling Options
Ideal for placing at the center of your hi-fi system, the SMSL SU-8 boasts high-end DAC features at a surprisingly low price. It’s built with many of the current specs you might expect to see in a more expensive model, including dual ES9038Q2M DAC chips, an xCORE-200 XMOS USB audio solution, and dual XLR outs for a fully balanced output. It also has optical, coaxial, and USB inputs, as well as an RCA out. The nine types of sound color settings use the DSP of the ES9038 to adjust the levels of distortion and make your music sound different. If you’re running a more complex setup, you can use the included remote to switch between sources. Also available to bundle or order as standalone options are the SH-8 and the DA-8S, powerful amps great for use with the SU-8 or other DACs.
