SU-8 DAC is okay. Good for Powered Speakers. DA-8s is staticky & weak.
The DAC is okay. The output to an amp is low compared to the enog pro2.
I thought there was something wrong with my new Darkvoice 336se. I had to crank it to 3 o'clock to get to listening volume. Switched to the Enog & it has plenty of power, before 12 o'clock.
It does work well enough powering my JBL 308mkii's.
EDITED: I had a static issue that was found to be the fault of non shielded xlr splitter cables. Static is greatly reduced:EDITED
The Topping MX3 is better. Plus it is a DAC/Amp in 1 unit. Volume level is better & no static at all.
Anyway. A bit disappointed overall.
I should have just gotten the Emotiva TA-100, but I wanted something for the top of my desk. Ah well, more wasted money. I wish I lived somewhere that had a place to audition equipment.
Would recommend to a friend.
Dude, I dont know about this, but not liking the DA-8s is one thing, saying that Topping Mx3 is better is another. Quite disqualifying IMHO. At least read the reviews on https://www.audiosciencereview.com/ FYI I have both the aforementioned and the SU-8 and I also own the D50s+A50+P50 combo from Topping. On a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100 all sound breathtaking and absolutely no static at all (my split XLR cables are from Cordial)
