JackphamHi Jackpham,
is this the reason why my device isn't working anymore? My laptop doesn't react on my SU-8 at all anymore.
Sorry for asking likely stupid question, cause I am not an expert at all :(
Would really appreciate help from any side.
Kind regards,
Tom
JackphamHi, I have the SMSL D1 DAC and it will occasionally do the same thing. This happens the most when it powers down and my computer stays on. After some experimentation (and frustration), I found the easiest way to get it to unlock the USB connection.
Connect another source to one of the other digital inputs, switch to that input, then switch back to USB and it should unlock. I have an optical output from my computer, so I keep an optical cable connected to the back of the D1 then plug the other end into the optical/headphone jack on my computer when I need to unlock the D1.
I would also advise to keep your SU-8 on all the time if you are not already, so you don't have to do this unlocking process as often. I've had my D1 for about a year and a half now, and it is working fine being left on 99.9% of the time.
It is a little frustrating that these expensive DACs need these workarounds to work normally. Hopefully in the future SMSL will address this problem and do something about it.
MattFsI do it your way also can not unlock the DAC. Thanks for answering.
someone advised me to buy usb audioquest jitterbug attached to DAC will unlock. But I'm not sure.
