Well I actually did it. I hope I didn't make a mistake. I read through a ton of discussion with and without sniping. I worry about long term reliability and warranty service in addition to sound. I watched Zeos's YT a few times too... At the end of the day time will tell... I AM thinking of buying a separate Square Trade warranty we'll see... IMHO for the money it should be a decent buy... YMMV as audio buys are an opinionated and fact based choice combined...

KimbaWLionI jumped on this too. It was between this and the RME ADI DAC, but I don't want to tweak EQ settings-I just want plug and play more or less. When I got into this hobby, I would keep buying incremental upgrades that wound up costing me more than if I just went out and paid for top of the line from the get go, so I decided to bite the bullet and take the wallet hit on this so I wasn't constantly wondering "what if?". That being said, I do have the Airist R2R coming my way, so maybe I'm still haven't learned my lesson.

OnahaI have been an audiophile for a lot of years and owned a ton of gear. I have learned for ME the expense of the extra 2-5% is not worth it for me anymore. I have too many other expenses. I own a pair Audeze LCD2 Fazered in Rosewood, Senn 600, MassDrop 6xx, and a few others that are now considered 2nd tier. Blows my mind that 1k headphones can be 2nd tier. There are some others I would not mind owning either. But DACs? I have heard a few and it's, for ME, so hard to hear a difference. You just have to make the choice to plunge and be done. My current DAC is a Schiit Bifrost Uber. I have had it for over 5-6 years now. My amp is Cavalli Carbon. It was time for a DAC upgrade. It was this or the Schiit offering and I still wonder if I did the right thing given Schiit's EXCELLENT customer service with a 5 yr warranty. I am sure the sound is different but how much is always the question. No Yggsdrail in my future due the cost. I will just continue to hope I did right. Maybe I just worry too much, we WILL see...
