fredfuchsSince it says to put the REI one on a stove, it is single walled. This massdrop one is double walled. It will keep drinks warmer longer, but you don't want to cook with. Only cook with a single walled one.

Not sure I will pull the trigger on the 600, but I own the 450 Snow Peak Ti-Double mug and love it. It is one of my luxury items I bring backpacking so that my morning coffee stays hot. It is sturdy and so far hasn't incurred a dent, keeps liquid hot for very long time and lightweight, a great combination. Folding handles make it easy to pack anywhere, or clip to the outside of a bag. I do think this drop in the future should come with the lid as an optional purchase. I have it for the 450 and in my mind you need a lid for walking around the camp site to prevent spills and increasing the length of time the liquids stay hot. However, despite that I will tell you that this is a great item. In general the most you ever see a discount of a snow peak item anywhere is 30%, almost never cheaper anywhere (remember I said in general). Snow peak is a great company, I had to return a stove once that wasn't regulating flow of gas well and they were top notch.

ibex-docThe 2x 450 with lid is my luxury item too. There does not appear to be a lid for the 600. Not on snow peak's site anyway. If there had been, that's probably the on e I would have bought...

I have a couple of double wall 300s and 4 single-wall 600s. Snow peak makes great kit.
Single-wall is the way to go if you might want to use your cup to cook in.

This mug is the only thing I've ever asked Massdrop to post. I am so glad that enough people were interested to make this a reality. I joined in as soon as I read the email. Half of my Ti gear is Snow Peak and the other half is Evernew. Both Japanese companies make beautiful titanium gear but only Snow Peak has this double wall 600 size mug.

MoeReedWhat's the point of the 600 if they don't make a lid for it? 450 it is then....
I have an unnatural obsession with Snow Peak Ti products. My coffee is in an H450 double-wall Seppou right now. My Whiskey gets poured into an H300. I have a single-wall 450 at home for ultralight backpacking trips. Snow Peak is the only company, that I know of, that uses Grade 1 Ti in their products. You may not care about that. ;)
A quick reminder - you shouldn't heat double-wall cups over direct flame. Bad things can happen!
Ah...see, there you lose me! I hate sporks. Even gorgeous titanium sporks. My go-to utensil is my Stoic Ti long spoon. I wish Backcountry still offered it.

SawatchFactory"Grade 1 is the most ductile and softest titanium alloy. It is a good solution for cold forming and corrosive environments." Says Wikipedia. It would be interesting to know what their reasons are for using grade 1. Purity of essence? =)
