When it comes to backpacking and your favorite beverage, every ounce counts. At just 3.2 ounces, the Snow Peak flask is an easy way to bring your libations along Read More
I also have this. It's an awesome flask, and it's got the glamor and brand recognition of being a Snow Peak. Plus it's made in Japan.
I don't know objectively how much "better" it is over a similar titanium flask from a Chinese maker at half the retail price (as has been offered on Massdrop before). I've asked the question and no one seems able to actually give a coherent logical answer.
At the end it's up to you to decide. The fact of the matter is that you cannot go wrong buying a Snow Peak, if you want a titanium flask. Whether you think the asking price is justified.....well that's up to you.
BTW, mine came with a PLASTIC funnel.
I own this flask and love it. The cap screw could be better machined (unless you want to lubricate it with some silicone) but it's a good size, very light, and doesn't taint the whisky or whatever you drink. The funnel is not titanium as stated unless they've changed. It might have been steel or plastic I can't recall - I use a steel one now but it might have come with something else.
I own one of these and really like it -- yeah, it's crazy expensive, but if you're trying to stay light on the trail and want to bring something half-decent with you to drink this is as good as it gets. Stainless flasks are heavy, and a nice whisky sitting in a plastic flask starts to taste off pretty quickly.
