The nearly squared carrier end works much better at keeping the sticks under control when laid down between bites than the original fully round sticks.
Even then, Snow Peak sticks are worth it.
I have a version from when Snow Peak milled down used cherry wood baseball bats. I actually broke the tip off one end once, and the folks at Snow Peak were able to find a loose end to replace mine and send it to me.

When I purchased mine yrs ago at REI the sales person mentioned that some buyers were returning them because the wood portion cracked. They were ruined because they were putting them in the dish washer or allowing them to sit in liquid too long. So if you get these, and I highly recommend them, treat them with oil (I use coconut oil) before using.
After using I wipe them off before placing them back inside itself. You can run them under hot water in the bathroom if you like, I personally don't like bringing any of my chopsticks in the bathroom though. Alternatively you can swish in a cup of hot water, tea, or coffee then dry off. Just remember to retreat with oil after washing with soap.

As an addendum to my prior comment, MD has erroneously used an image (food picture) of what appears to be a Black and Tanned Leather cases. This is NOT what you will receive, SNOWPEAK does not make a leather case for this product. It will be shipped with the burgundy nylon webbing sheath as pictured on their website.

I've owned/used 2 pairs of these for over 12 years. They are functional/durable and easy to clean. Logan96 duh, it's not a leather sheath (look at the detailed image.) and not available separately. Go to the SnowPeak website. Sheath is 1.5" nylon webbing. Diggledog, the sheath will only house the actual chopsticks, this is not an excessively large pouch. ChuckDee & halfbellestate these are designed to be used over and over and over. They can be rinsed in a bathroom sink before leaving an eatery, and rinsed/washed again if needed upon returning home. As for the wood, a little food grade mineral oil such as Bayes can be applied to keep the wood conditioned and protected from drying/cracking. sky_barnes wise purchase! They are TSA compatible, mine have over 50K miles around the world.

My bad, I misunderstood your post, these aren't disposable as some may gather (or perhaps if you can toss $40.00 a meal away, maybe Lol!) Your comment was spot on. Thanks for the callback. They are a good investment if you travel.

I noticed from snow peak web site that this chopsticks carry a Ca prop 65 warning. I presume it's from the brass cap...

ArborCA pretty much requires a prop 65 warning on everything. Starbucks is required to post a prop 65 as do all grocery stores. It's a lawyer thing.

This is good timing as I already planned to pick up an extra set of these. It makes me feel good to not have to use disposable chopsticks. These look good, work well, and since the tips store inside the handle, I can travel with them case free and not worry about my bag contaminating them, or them my bag. I am going to try both sizes, as I don’t know which I currently have, and both will get used.

What are the dimensions of the pouches please?
Just wondering what else I can store in there.

DiggledogI have an older one I got from REI 20yrs ago. I don't have it in front of me at the moment but I can tell you this, there's probably enough room to fit a 4.5" pencil with the chopsticks packed in.

Logan96It is available on the Snow Peak website sans chopsticks (https://snowpeak.com/products/snow-peak-x-tanner-goods-carry-on-chopstick-set?variant=671195377). It appears to have been a collaboration with Tanner Goods. I think only the brown color is available through Snow Peak though.
